Library Cards
Library cards are free for residents of Guntersville and Marshall County, Alabama. For those who do not live in Marshall County, a library card can be purchased for a one-time $5 fee. You will need your ID with a current address to apply for a card. If your ID has an old address, you may bring another form of proof of address such as a piece of mail, utility bill, etc.
Books and DVDs can be checked out for 2 weeks, with a possible two renewals allowed. There are no overdue fines for late materials, but lost materials will be assessed to patron cards and must be paid before checking out new materials.
Adults may check out up to 20 books at one time, 5 audiobooks, 5 DVDs, and 2 board games.
Juveniles may check out 10 books, 5 audiobooks, 5 DVDs, and 2 board games.
There is no minimum age to have a library card, but library members under the age of 18 should have a responsible adult linked to their account.
