Library Cards
Library cards are free for residents of Guntersville and Marshall County, Alabama. For those who do not live in Marshall County, a library card can be purchased for a one-time $5 fee. You will need your ID with a current address to apply for a card. If your ID has an old address, you may bring another form of proof of address such as a piece of mail, utility bill, etc.
Books can be checked out for 2 weeks, with a possible two renewals allowed. DVDs can be checked out for 1 week, with two possible renewals allowed. The overdue fine for all materials is 10 cents per day per item, with a maximum fine of $10 per item.
Adults may check out up to 20 books at one time, 5 audiobooks, and 5 DVDs.
Juveniles may check out 10 books, 5 audiobooks, and 5 DVDs.
There is no minimum age to have a library card, but library members under the age of 18 should have a responsible adult linked to their account.
