The Guntersville Public Library collects materials in a variety of formats to support the Library’s mission of serving the educational, recreational, and entertainment needs of the community as a whole. Materials are selected in an effort to maintain a well-balanced, up-to-date, attractive, and useful collection of materials to meet the diverse needs of the community.

Library Cards

Library cards are free for residents of Guntersville and Marshall County, Alabama. For those who do not live in Marshall County, a library card can be purchased for a one-time $5 fee. You will need your ID with a current address to apply for a card. If your ID has an old address, you may bring another form of proof of address such as a piece of mail, utility bill, etc.

Computers and Printing

The Guntersville Library is committed to providing the community with access to a wide variety of information in different formats. Free use of our public computers is available to all library users. We have four youth computers (ages 17 and under) and eight adult computers (ages 17+). Simply login to a computer using your library card number. We do provide free guest passes for visitors. Free wifi is also available throughout the library.

 

Black and white prints are available at .10 per page and must be paid for upon printing. We do not offer the ability to print in color, but you may make color copies for .25 per page.

Meeting Rooms

Please call the library to check for availability. 

Auditorium

Our auditorium is located in our annex building and has audio-visual equipment available for use, including a DVD, projector, and screen. This space is good for large crowds. Our Meeting Room Policy must be filled out in order to book this room.

Computer Lab

This medium-size room is located inside the library and has a large screen tv available for use. This space is good for less than 20 people.

 

All other space/rooms in the library are first come, first serve. 

Memorials

The Library welcomes monetary gifts for purchase of materials for the collections given in recognition or memory of individuals or organizations. When possible, the library will choose materials according to the honoree’s interests and preferences. The name(s) of the donor(s) and those recognized by the gift will be listed on a bookplate affixed to the material, if so desired.
