1:00 PM in the Library Auditorium
Derryn Moten is the chairman of Alabama State University’s Department of History and Political Science and a noted expert on the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. In this presentation, Moten will discuss the introduction he wrote for the 60th anniversary edition of Crusader Without Violence, the first biography written on Dr. King and a rare and engaging account of the dynamic leader before he became an American icon.

Free Friday Foreign Films
Independent films have always drawn critical acclaim for their artistic nature and simple portrayal of the human spirit, but it has only been in the past few years that mainstream audiences have taken notice of these sometimes quirky and oftentimes beautiful films. With many of these films now catching the attention of the Golden Globes and Academy Awards, we are so grateful and excited that the Friends of the Guntersville Public Library have offered to sponsor this program so that the library can bring the community current and highly rated Indie films. Films begin at 7 PM in the library auditorium and light refreshments are provided.
Jan. 25: Beautiful Boy
March 29: Eighth Grade
*While the dates will remain the same, the order of these movies may switch depending on the DVD release date of Beautiful Boy. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for updates!
